Fancy accessing an interest-free loan of up to 40 million naira to finance your video production?

That’s the juicy “carrot” that was recently dangled at an industry engagement session with the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB). Open to filmmakers who are 18 years and above and resident in Lagos, the Executive Secretary of LSFVCB, Mrs Adebukola Agbaminoja encouraged filmmakers and content creators to apply for the loan to further push their creative endeavors and “use filmmaking to reengineer mindsets”.

Lagos State has a unique positioning in the film and TV industry as a significant chunk of all films and TV content made in Nigeria are produced in the state and it is a hub for entertainment activities all year round. With inadequate funding identified as the bane of the filmmaking/content creation process, the Lagos Film Fund is no doubt a welcome development as it bridges the funding gap in the industry.
