Featuring expert and community residents’ interviews as well as reality scenes, the documentary is aimed at highlighting the work done in education, health, sports, community engagement etc.

This documentary is Produced and directed by Hadizat Ibrahim, a filmmaker nominated as Best Producer African at the 2024 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINNF).

SYNOPSIS:

Gbenro and Aisha have been unlucky with love all their lives, but once they meet each other, they know they’ve found true love. Theirs is a whirlwind romance. Barely 2 months after they meet, they move in together and when Gbenro pops the question a month later, Aisha says ‘yes!’. Gbenro’s mum is unsure about this union. As a single mum, she is skeptical about the durability of this sudden romance. To put his mother’s fears to rest, Gbenro and Aisha agreed to attend a marriage counselling session by a counsellor that she swears by. According to her, “If Dr Cynthia Oladimeji says you are perfect for each other, then you have my blessing”. Gbenro is determined to prove that Aisha is perfect for him, but the couple soon finds out that love is only one of 10 steps when it comes to marriage.

SYNOPSIS:

OMOWUNMI is an engaging short film that strikes at the heart of a conversation we all must entertain – the challenges of stay-at-home moms (SAHM) and the need to support them.

It follows the story of Omowunmi – an ambitious brand manager who quit her job and relocated to a different city to be with her Husband after marriage. Several years and a Baby after, she attempts to pick up her career from where she left off but the hurdles in her way soon spiral out of control and put a strain on her marriage. But when her secret pain is unleashed, who is her biggest support?
